New Year's Polar Plunge • January 1, 2025 • HIGH NOON!

2025 January 1 Polar Plunge at Dig Paddlesports

NEXT POLAR PLUNGE DATE: January 1st 2025 • 12pm-1pm

.........................................................

Ready to shake off the old and start the new year fresh? Grab a friend and come jump into the water together... or, grab a frenemy and tell them to jump in the lake!

What better way to shake off the old year than jumping into the brisk waters of Quail Creek Reservoir?

Dress up in your favorite costume to be entered in for a prize. Bring a friend, the kind of friend that will hold your hand and not let go to make sure you don't chicken out. The fact is that we don't have to carve through three feet of ice to get to the water, but IT. IS. COLD.Polar Plunge New Year's Day, 2022. Start the year with a splash! We live in a desert, where overnight winter temperatures can get into the low teens, and a breeze off of the mountain will have you reconsidering your choice of activities for the morning. Water temperatures typically range from 42˚-48˚, enough to spike your heart rate and freeze your (mega)bits! Deep breaths, take the plunge, make a memory! We will have support staff on hand to render assistance, if needed.

This is all for a good cause.

We are coming together to raise money for the Washington County Children's Justice Center. The Justice Center describes their function as follows:

"Before there were Children’s Justice Centers (called Children’s Advocacy Centers, or CACs in other parts of the country), investigation of child abuse required multiple interviews of the child victim by the police, social services, medical personnel, mental health professionals and attorneys. Each interview occurred at a different place and rarely in a setting that was familiar or comfortable for the child. Now, the Children’s Justice Center provides a homelike environment where a single interview is conducted by a trained child forensic interviewer, and all of the professionals then work together to provide the best-possible outcome for the child and family."

Donations will be accepted at the event. You can also donate online at https://cjcwc.com/donate/ . Everyone that contributes can show their donation receipt for a door prize drawing ticket.

Let's help these kids.

Jump off the dock or run in from the boat ramp - it's all fairly shallow with an exit up the boat ramp; jump or run in, walk out.

We will have hot chocolate and a fire to help warm you back up. Warming tent provided by Dream Season Guide Service owner and EasyShop Insurance Agent Damon Atkinson. Restrooms are nearby to change into dry clothes.

Registration now open online at www.digpaddlesports.com. Event is just FIVE BUCKS ($5.00) per person, pre-registration is for liability waiver and eligibility for prizes. Each additional $5 donated gets you another donation prize ticket. Waiver must be filled out to participate. Minors are welcome to participate with parental/guardian supervision.

Paddler (usually) Chris Hall demonstrates proper form while executing a dock launch arial arabesque with changement des pieds. Nicely done, Monsieur! The lineup. It doesn't take a village. It takes a few crazy friends and a desire to earn that hot chocolate. Dock launch, Fox-style.
