Paddle the Solar Eclipse!
JOIN US FOR AN UNFORGETTABLE COSMIC EVENT!
Quail Lake (inside Quail Creek State Park) is a near-perfect location to view the "annular eclipse", or solar eclipse of October 14, 2023. Located in Southwestern Utah, you'll be able to see the moon pass through our line of sight between Planet Earth and The Sun.
We sit just outside of the "100% Zone" in Southern Utah; expect to see an incredible, thin crescent ring of nuclear fire around The Sun as we experience approximately 87%-95% of the full ring effect of the eclipse. NASA has created a great interactive tool that shows the pathway of the eclipse shadow: NASA 2023 Eclipse Explorer
Solar Eclipse glasses and "I stared at The Sun in a Hurricane" stickers are included, along with the use of a kayak or stand up paddleboard. 2 people? We have tandem kayaks! Want to bring your own? Just $10!
Check in at the Dig Paddlesports shop/office, get a wristband (one for hot dog, one for grilled cheese), your eclipse glasses, and head down to the beach. We'll paddle, stare at The Sun, get some great photos of the crowd, and celebrate this beautiful blessing of a world we have to live on. Food service starts at 11am.
